I’m Indian by race and Indonesian by nationality, born and bred in the fast-paced city of Jakarta. Currently based in Bali, I always felt like the island life was meant for me, and couldn’t be more grateful to be able to call it home.
Photography has been a passion of mine since high-school, and I was fortunate enough to complete a degree in the subject at University of the Arts London. A lot of people have asked me, “wow you went that far just to study photography?” and it honestly wasn’t just about the subject, it was the whole experience of going out of my comfort zone for the first time to a different continent, 7282 miles away from home, with no family to depend on. Keep in mind that I am the youngest (and an introvert growing up) in my family who pretty much couldn’t make any decisions without some input from my mom, dad or sister. Living in London for 4 years not only opened me up to an in-depth world of photography, but majorly contributed to my personal growth and development as an individual.
Making photographs enable us to freeze ephemeral moments of life that passes by within a flash. These connections and moments resonate deeply with me, and to be able to capture that with your loved ones is one of the main reasons why I do what I do.
